Congratulations to our Varsity boys for their District win today And many congratulations to Abhay and Ezra for winning their individual lines. As District winners, we now host the Regional semi finals next Tuesday 4/23 against Lake Mary Prep. Go Lakers!

TRACK & FIELD
On Wednesday, April 10th, the Laker Track and Field team entered the postseason with a strong performance at the FHSAA District 10 Championship. On the Girls’ side, school records were set in the 400m Dash by Dania Fernandez and in the 4×800 meter relay by Stephanie Sun, Carly Siegel, Mirabella Miranda, and Ann Casey. Other noteworthy performances include a 4th place finish by Stephanie Sun in the 800m run and a 5th place finish in the 1600m run by Mirabella Miranda. On the Boys’ side, 1st place finishes included Chris Fetters’ 800m win and Zavien Williams’ victory in the high jump. Zavien Williams also finished 3rd in the 400m dash, right behind teammate Zuhaib Khan. Chris Fetters, Zavien Williams, and Zuhaib Khan teamed up with Mathews Peres to finish the meet with a 2nd place finish in the Boys 4×400m relay, coming very close to beating their rival The First Academy. Other noteworthy performances include Jackson Grinnell’s 5th place performance in the shot put, Wade Martin’s 4th place in the long jump, and the 4th place finish of the Boys 4×100m relay team of Felipe Marques Fernandes, Jackie Song, Jayden Williams, and Wade Martin. Freshman Lucas Dvorak also placed 4th in the 1600m run. Regional qualifiers are Zavien Williams (HJ, 400m, 4×4), Zuhaib Khan (400m, 4×4), Chris Fetters (800m, 4×4), Wade Martin (LJ, 4×1), Lucas Dvorak (1600m), Stephanie Sun (800m), the Boys 4×400m relay, Boys 4×100m relay, and Girls 4×800m relay. Regionals are April 27th. GO LAKERS!
The WPS Girls Lacrosse team took on Bartow High School last Monday for their final game of a historic season. The Lakers fought hard and ended up victorious with a score of 9-1! This year, the team aimed to make a statement, and they did just that. Through the Lakers’ hard work and determination, the team finished their season undefeated with a record of 10-0! Way to go, Lakers!
