WPXC Competed With The State's Best at FSU Invitational

The WPXC athletes had a great two days at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Fl, as they competed with the state’s best at the FSU (Pre-State) Invitational.

The middle school athletes competed in the 3K (1.86 miles) on Friday evening to start the weekend off and they did not disappoint. 8th grader Nathan Brady finished with a PR time of 10:46 to lead the middle school boys to a great 2nd place overall finish! Olivia Ikeda led the middle school girls to an 8th place overall finish with a time of PR time of 14:12.

The varsity boys were led in the 5K by Freshman Zavien Williams to a 6th place overall finish with a time of 18:13. Williams finished 8th place. On the varsity girls side, they were led by Senior Amelia Verbaas with a time of 23:56. Verbaas was 32nd out of 175 girls.

The WPXC athletes will conclude their fine season with the Florida Horse Park Invitational this Saturday in Ocala. The WPS Varsity Boys’ will get the action started at 7:40 am, and will conclude with the WPS Middle School Boys at 9:40 am. Go Lakers!
