Boys Cross Country Wins Districts!

This past Saturday at Foundation Academy, the WPS boys cross-country team won their second consecutive FHSAA 1A District 10 championship! The girls had a great finish as well, with a 3rd place finish. The boys were paced by Senior Sean Gustafson, who finished 4th with a time of 17:49. Sophomore Eric Wang recorded a personal-record time and finished 8th with a time of 18:11. WPS had 4 runners finish in the top 15!

On the girls side, the five person team was again led by Senior Gabriella Orlando and Maya Rifai. Gabriella finished 7th with a season-best time of 21:16, and Maya finished with a time of 21:39 in 8th place. 6th grader Kathryn Hey finished with a personal-record of 23:04 and Amelia Verbaas also finished with a personal-record 23:10. Josefine Fenne ran a personal-record time of 28:41.

Both boys and girls teams qualified for the FHSAA 1A Region 3 championship meet at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy in Melbourne, Fl next Saturday, October 29 at 8 am. Congratulate the WPS XC racers when you see them on campus for continuing to represent our great school with excellence!
