The Windermere Prep Girls Basketball team competed in the Florida 3A Regional tournament last night for the first time in school history.

The Lakers faced off against Lakeland Christian, but fell short 67-52. This was a much improved Windermere Prep team who had previously been defeated by Lakeland Christian by a much larger margin twice already this season.

Senior Forward, Kelly Rowswell led the Lakers with 27 points and 15 rebounds. Senior Guard, Abbey Lahnston added 10 points and 7th grader Emerson Hilgenfeldt chipped in five points, respectively.

Rowswell has signed to play soccer with Rollins College next season, and Abbey Lahnston will attend Boston College.

Windermere Prep (9-13) finishes the 2015-2016 season as the most successful girls basketball team in school history. As a District Runner-Up and Regional contender, the Lakers look to build on a very young and talented team as they will not return any Seniors on the roster next season.

Congratulations and Go Lakers!
