Boys Basketball Shines at Desert Challenge
The varsity boys basketball team traveled to Arizona over the weekend to participate in the Desert Challenge at Rancho Solano Prep. The team, currently ranked as the #1 team in Central Florida, shined in the outing, going 2-0.
On Friday, the Lakers defeated Desert Vista (Phoenix, AZ) 65-59. David Nickleberry lead the way with 14 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds. Parker Davis added an additional 13 points and 5 assists, and Michell Siegel and Ryan Swoboda contributed an additional 12 and 10 points respectively.
On Saturday, WPS faced off against Brophy College Prep (Phoenix, AZ). In another close game, the Lakers came out victorious with a final score of 65-58. Parker Davis was unstoppable, putting up an impressive 23 points. David Nickleberry also had a strong showing, scoring 12 points while providing 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Xion Golding put up 12 points and 7 rebounds, and Mitchell Siegel once again contributed 10 points.
The Lakers will be back in action Wednesday night at home against Foundation Academy at 5pm.
